Normalerweise kann man als Benutzer in PHPBB3 die Sprache wählen. Hier auch! Persönlicher Bereich -> Einstellungen -> Meine Sprache. Ob man das schon bei der Anmeldung wählbar machen kann, weiß ich nicht, ich habe schon eine Weile kein PHPBB3 mehr betrieben.

Übrigens finde ich es eine prima Lösung von den PHPBB Entwicklern, Deutsch (Du) und Deutsch (Sie) als separate Sprachen zu deklarieren. Ich persönlich finde das ganze Gesieze ja immer furchtbar, besonders wenn Spiele das tun...

Jep man kann es auch bei der Anmelden schon Auswählen, es kommt dann auch "I agree to these terms" wir müssten nur das Captcha anpassen sonst ist alles englisch.

Na gut, dann wäre das Sprachproblem gelöst...hmm...also mit einem englischen Eressea Forum mal starten? Wie soll es lauten, welchen Subtext sollen wir eintragen?

Also sticky dort vielleicht einen text zur Erklärung anhängen, dass es sich hier um ein altes, deutschsprachiges Portal handelt, aber wir englische Zielgruppen berücksichtigen wollen. Bei Ork könnte man auch englische Spieler hinzu ziehen. Bisher hat noch kein englischsprachiger mitgespielt.

I do have a small community of players over at the PlayByMail.Net forum. But, my focus has never really been on getting players of games to use my forum, as opposed to the forums on other sites.

You're welcome to advertise your games over on the PlayByMail.Net site, forum, and in Suspense & Decision magazine. We could try to run both German ads and English ads for your games, if you want.

I've changed my mind somewhat on this subject, especially in light of recent events. It doesn't look like there are very many English players in Eressea after all (I think a lot of them have churned out), and my focus, if I were to address a non-German "market", would be on evangelizing the game to potential GMs rather than players. This forum here is not the right one for that sort of thing, but playbymail.net or S&D magazine might be. I just don't see myself pushing that angle very hard at the moment, as I'm already pretty busy to rebuild the German audience for Eressea, and running those games.

I guess we have 2 options:

1. we setup a english branch in our forum

2. playbymail.net is for english and pbem-spiele.de for german players

The second option is the actually state. I guess the german and english players knows the forums. But the problem of playbymail.net forum is, that every game has his own forum I guess. The players more using the forum of their games, as the forum of playbymail.net. pbem-spiele.de host own games and we have a pool of players and much more traffic.
But setup a english part of a forum looks usefull for our own games with english players (like OlyTag or Ork) only. On the other hand, its not good for the playbymail.net forum...tricky... :gruebel:

Von mir aus ist die aktuelle Situation auch tragfähig. Ich habe nichts gegen ein zweites Forum, und habe dort mal einen Eressea-Thread begonnen: http://playbymail.net/mybb/showthread.php?tid=3091 - das kann ja wachsen von dort, falls sich doch noch mal englische Spieler finden, die am Forum teilnehmen wollen. Dass nicht jeder Spieler mit jedem interagieren kann, weil einige nur Englsich und andere nur Deutsch sprechen, ist halt so - das Problem haben wir im Spiel selbst ja auch.

Was Du für Deine eigenen Spiele machen willst, ist natürlich Deine Sache :-)
